Pseudophoenix Sargentii

This rare and attractive palm tree has pinnate dark grey/green leaves that can reach over 4m (13ft) in length, found in Florida, Central America and the Carribean. With a slightly swollen trunk and displays very clear ring detail from the old leaf bases.

The Cherry Palm name is derived from the bright red fruit, which are unusual amongst palms. Due to the slow growth rare this variety is suited to container growing, before eventually being planted in a premanent position. As this palm is largely found in coastal region it is very wind and salt tolerant and is suited to a warm temperate environment.

An endangered palm that is rare in cultivation with young trees commanding high prices.
